How much of this category will tell you what it costs
Every product here sells itself on saving you time, and a good share of them will not tell you the price without a call first. We keep a comparison catalog researched from each product’s own pages, so here is the split: who publishes a price, who publishes a pricing page with no figure on it, and who makes you ask.
By what the product is
The split is not even across the category, and the pattern is about who the product is sold to rather than what it does.
| Category | Products | Price published | No figure | You have to ask |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AI employee platforms | 8 | 8 | 0 | 0 |
| The assistant your team already has | 8 | 7 | 0 | 1 |
| The automation platform you may already have | 3 | 3 | 0 | 0 |
| The outbound specialists | 4 | 2 | 1 | 1 |
| The personal productivity tools | 4 | 4 | 0 | 0 |
| The recruiting platforms | 4 | 0 | 0 | 4 |
| Run it yourself | 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 |
What this says
- Whether a price is published tracks who the product is sold to far more than what it does. The closer a category sits to enterprise procurement, the less of it is readable.
- A pricing page is not the same as a price. Some publish the billing model in detail and never name a figure, which reads as transparency and answers nothing a buyer asked.
- A missing price is a real cost, not just an annoyance. It means the shortlist cannot be assembled without booking calls, so the comparison happens after the sales process rather than before it.
- We are in this sample and classified by the same rule as everyone else. Our own page publishes a figure, which is the only reason we are comfortable counting who does not.
Method
Each product in our comparison catalog is classified by what its own published pages say on the date that comparison was checked, and every comparison links the page the classification was read from, so any row here can be checked rather than taken on trust. Three buckets: a price you can read, a pricing page that explains the billing model without ever naming a figure, and no published price at all. This counts the products we have written a comparison for rather than the whole category, which is the honest limit of it: it is our catalog, not a survey, and a product enters it because we compared ourselves to it.
Every product counted here has a comparison page that links the pages its classification was read from, so any row can be checked. The oldest check in this sample is 2026-09-02, and the figures above are computed when this page renders rather than written down, so they follow the catalog.
If you want to cite this, please cite the URL rather than a number. The number changes the next time one of these products changes its pricing page, and a figure quoted without the date it was read is the exact problem this page is about.
The products counted
Each links to the comparison it came from, where the source pages are listed with the date they were read.
