What an AI integration count actually counts

Every agent platform advertises how many apps it connects to. Almost none of them say what connecting means. We have the catalog behind ours, so here is the distribution: how many of those apps expose enough for an AI employee to do anything useful, and how many are a name on a list.

The largest single connector exposes 100 actions, across 85 categories in total. That spread is why an average is misleading and the middle of the distribution is the number worth quoting.

What follows from it

  • An integration count is not a capability count. The same headline number covers apps that expose nothing and apps that expose dozens of operations.
  • The middle of the distribution is the useful figure, not the total. A handful of very large connectors pull an average upward and tell you nothing about the app you actually need.
  • A long tail of connectors exists mainly to make a list longer. Ours are still built and still render, but we do not offer the thinnest of them for indexing, because a page with nothing on it helps nobody.
  • When you compare platforms on integration counts, ask what the floor is. Without one, the number is a measure of how many partnerships exist rather than how much work can be done.

How this was measured

These figures are computed from the app catalog this site is built on, synced from Composio, at the moment this page was generated. An action is a single operation a connected app exposes, such as creating a record or sending a message. Nothing here is an estimate and nothing is typed by hand: the page reads the same data the integration pages are built from, so it changes when the catalog does. It describes one provider’s catalog, which is the honest limit of the claim, and it is not a survey of every integration platform.

Citing this

You are welcome to quote any of these figures. They are recomputed whenever the catalog changes, so please cite the page rather than copying a number, and it will stay correct.
