The best personal AI assistants, by where they live and what they do for you
A personal AI assistant can mean a chat window you ask questions, the AI inside the office suite you already use, a planner that rearranges your week, or something that does the work while you are elsewhere. Most lists rank all of those on one scale. They answer different complaints, so this list says which complaint each one answers.
The short answer
Start with where your day already happens. If you want answers, drafts and ideas on demand, a general assistant like ChatGPT is the obvious first pick, and if your work lives in Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 the assistant built into that suite may already be paid for. If the problem is the week itself, a planner such as Motion or Reclaim arranges it. If the problem is that the follow-ups, replies and bookings never get done at all, that is a job for an assistant that works while you are elsewhere and asks before it sends.
Where we stand: We make one of the products on this list. Sanaf AI Solutions is ours, it is not first, and for most people who want help thinking, writing or answering questions, the general assistants above it are the better choice. It is here for the person who wants work taken off their plate rather than done faster.
How this was put together: This is not a hands-on test. Nothing here was trialled, timed or scored. Each entry comes from our comparison page for that product, written from the vendor’s own live pages on the date shown against it, and every comparison links the pages it was read from so the claims can be checked. We do not repeat competitors’ prices, because a stale figure is a false claim; each comparison describes the pricing model and points at the vendor for the current number.

Choose it if

- You have an IT team that wants to build and manage agents in Copilot Studio.
- You want one vendor for the office suite and the AI in it.
4. Saner.ai
Checked 2026-09-19A second brain for one person, or a hire the whole team can give work to.
Choose it if
- The problem is your own scattered notes, emails and documents rather than undone work.
- You want something personal that you alone use, with nothing to roll out to a team.
- You find conventional productivity tools hard to keep using, which it is explicitly designed around.
- You want to start free and self-serve without involving anyone else.
5. Motion
Checked 2026-09-19A planner that decides when, or an employee that decides what to do about it.
Choose it if
- You have more committed work than time, and the hard part is deciding what happens when.
- Your projects change often enough that a static plan is out of date within a day.
- You want tasks, projects, calendar and notes in one place rather than four.
- The people to do the work already exist; they are just badly scheduled.
6. Reclaim.ai
Checked 2026-09-19A calendar that defends your time, or an employee that does the work on it.
Choose it if
- Your calendar is the problem: too many meetings, no protected time, and tasks that never get a slot.
- You want scheduling decisions made automatically and reversibly, with a preview before anything moves.
- You want something a single person can adopt this afternoon without involving the team.
- The work itself is getting done; it is the arrangement of the week that is not working.
7. Sanaf AI Solutions
Checked 2026-09-19A personal assistant that works while you are elsewhere, in Slack or Microsoft Teams.
Choose it if
- You want the inbox, the follow-ups and the bookings handled, not a faster way to do them yourself.
- You would rather message an assistant in Slack or Microsoft Teams than open another app.
- Nothing should go out under your name until you have approved it, and it earns more room from there.
- You want to start free and pay for the work it does rather than a monthly seat.
8. Lindy
Checked 2026-09-02A hired employee, or agents you build yourself.
Choose it if
- You like building automations and want full control over every step and prompt.
- Your needs are mostly personal productivity: your inbox, your calendar, your meeting notes.
- You want an agent that handles voice calls as part of the flows you build.
- You have someone on the team who will own and maintain the agents over time.
9. Notion AI
Checked 2026-09-04Help inside your docs, or work across your apps.
Choose it if
- Your company genuinely runs in Notion and your operating documents live there.
- The work is writing, summarising and organising rather than acting in other systems.
- You already pay for Notion seats, so the AI is an upgrade rather than a new tool.
- You want the assistant to know your pages without you connecting anything.
If you want the job held rather than a tool bought
Sanaf can take this on as one of the jobs it holds, alongside the rest of the roster.
What that job looks likeQuestions
- What is a personal AI assistant?
- Software that takes some of your own work: answering questions, drafting, planning your week or handling tasks for you. The products on this list differ mainly in whether you drive every step yourself or hand a job over and review what comes back.
- Is ChatGPT a personal assistant?
- It is the assistant most people start with, and for thinking, writing and research it is hard to beat. It works while you are in the conversation. If you need things done while you are not there, such as replies sent after approval or bookings chased, look at the entries built for that.
- Is there a free personal AI assistant?
- Several entries here have a free way in, including ours, and the assistants inside Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 may already come with a plan you pay for. Each comparison describes the pricing model and links the vendor, since free tiers change often.
- Should a personal AI assistant be allowed to send email as me?
- Only once you have seen enough of its drafts to trust it, and never by default. Look for one that shows you what it plans to send and waits for a yes. An assistant that acts under your name on day one is a risk you are taking without being asked.
