I-2 Heavy Industrial Zoning in Moore, OK

I-2 Heavy Industrial District is Moore's most intensive industrial zoning, allowing heavy manufacturing, processing, and uses with greater external impacts than I-1 will permit. I-2 land is limited in Moore and concentrated where rail and major arterial access support heavy operations.

I-2 allows uses that may produce significant noise, odor, smoke, or vibration when properly designed and buffered: foundries, chemical processing (under permit), large-scale fabrication, asphalt and concrete plants. Performance standards still apply at the property line — adjacent property owners are not subject to nuisance.

I-2 typically requires Special Use Permit for the most-intensive operations. Oklahoma DEQ air quality permits, OPDES industrial wastewater permits, and Moore Fire Marshal hazardous-materials review may all apply depending on the operation.
