How the AI Works

How does Envoy learn about my business?
Envoy crawls your website and reads every page — services, FAQs, about page, pricing, blog posts. It also accepts PDFs (menus, brochures, policy documents), custom Q&A pairs you write, and any text you paste in. The more content you provide, the more accurately it answers.
Will the chatbot make things up or give wrong answers?
Envoy uses Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) — it answers only from your actual business content, not from the model's general training data. If it can't find the answer in your knowledge base, it says so and offers to collect the visitor's contact info instead of guessing.
What languages does Envoy support?

Can I set the chatbot's personality or tone?
Yes. The system prompt lets you define your chatbot's persona — formal, friendly, concise, detailed. You can also restrict it to specific topics and set a fallback message for out-of-scope questions.

Privacy & Security

Is my website content kept private?
Yes. Your training data is stored securely and is never shared with other customers or used to train shared AI models. Each chatbot's knowledge base is isolated.
Are visitor conversations stored?
Conversation logs are stored in your Envoy dashboard for analytics and lead review. You can export or delete them at any time from your account settings.
Is Envoy GDPR compliant?
Envoy is designed with privacy in mind and supports GDPR compliance practices including data deletion requests. Contact our support team for a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) if required for your use case.
