Connect Sanaf to Slack

This article shows how to add Sanaf to your Slack workspace and how your team works with it there. Before you start - You need to be an owner or manager of your Sanaf workspace. - In Slack, you need permission to add apps to the workspace. - If you chose Sign up with Slack when you signed up, Sanaf is already in Slack and you can skip to "Talk to Sanaf in Slack". Add Sanaf to Slack 1. In the console, open Sanaf's page. 2. Find the Slack card, titled Put it in Slack, and press Add Sanaf to Slack. The button shows your employee's name. 3. Slack opens its own screen. Check the workspace and press Allow. 4. You come back to the console, which says Added to Slack. Sanaf joins your workspace as one app with its own name. It sends a direct message to the person who added it, saying what it can do and how to work with it. If you press Cancel on Slack's screen, nothing changes and the console says No changes made. If the install link had expired, start again from the same button. Talk to Sanaf in Slack - Direct message: open Sanaf's app in Slack and write to it. - In a channel: invite Sanaf to the channel, then mention @Sanaf with what you need. In a small channel it posts one line introducing itself when it joins. It stays quiet in large or company wide channels, such as #general, until someone mentions it. - Threads: once Sanaf is in a thread, it stays in it, so you can reply without mentioning it again. Sanaf posts when you ask it something, and for anything you set up, such as a routine on a schedule. It never uses @channel or @here. Once Sanaf is in Slack, its Slack card in the console shows In your Slack, with a button to open it in Slack and a Reinstall link. Approving from Slack When Sanaf needs a yes before it acts, it posts a card in the thread. Only a manager can decide it, and Slack has to know which console account you are. The person who added Sanaf to Slack is linked automatically. Anyone else links their account once: 1. In Slack, open your profile and choose Copy member ID. 2. In the console, open Integrations, then the Channels tab. 3. Under Your Slack account, paste the ID and press Link. If someone who is not linked presses a button on a card, Sanaf tells them to ask a manager or link their account. If you work in Teams A workspace whose first install was Microsoft Teams is not offered Slack. The Slack card says Working in Microsoft Teams instead. Chat with Sanaf in the console

This article covers the Chat screen, where you talk to Sanaf in the console instead of in Slack or Teams. When to use it Most teams talk to Sanaf in Slack or Teams, where they already work. The console chat is useful before Sanaf is in either, or when you want a longer conversation in the browser. It is the same Sanaf, with the same apps, instructions and approvals. Start a chat 1. Open Chat at the top of the left rail. 2. Type in the box that says Message Sanaf (it shows your employee's name). 3. Press Enter to send. Press Shift and Enter for a new line. A new chat offers a few openers based on the apps you have connected and the skills Sanaf has. Press one to use it, or write your own. While Sanaf works, you see what it is doing. To stop it, press Stop or the Esc key. Attach files Press Attach files to add files to a message. You can also paste them into the box. You can attach up to 5 files to one message, up to 25 MB each. Answer Sanaf's questions When Sanaf needs a yes before it acts, a card appears in the chat headed Sanaf is waiting on you. It says what Sanaf wants to do and why it is asking. Depending on the action, you can choose: - Send it: go ahead this once. - Yes, for this chat: go ahead with this kind of action for the rest of this chat. - Always allow this: stop asking about this action. - Not this time: do not do it now. - Never allow this: never do it. Some choices are not offered for some actions. Spending money, for example, is always asked about. Manage your chats - The list on the right shows your chats, each named after its first message. Press New chat to start another. - Open a chat and press Archive to move it out of the list. Archived chats at the bottom of the list shows them, and Unarchive brings one back. Email Sanaf and set up its email address

This article shows how to email Sanaf, and how to choose who is allowed to. How it works Every workspace has an inbox address for Sanaf. Send or forward an email to it and Sanaf picks it up like a message. The reply comes back by email, in the same thread. There is nothing to install. The address exists as soon as your workspace does, but nobody can use it until you allow them. Find the address 1. In the console, press Settings at the bottom of the left rail, then Emails under Workspace. 2. The Sanaf's inbox card shows the address. It is based on your workspace's name. 3. Press Copy next to it. Allow senders Only the senders you allow reach Sanaf. Everyone else is rejected. Until you allow someone, the screen shows Nobody can email Sanaf yet and every email to the inbox is rejected. 1. On the Allowed senders card, type a domain or an address in the box. - A domain, such as acme.com, allows everyone at that company. It is listed as whole company. - An address, such as [email protected], allows one person. It is listed as one person. 2. Press Allow. To take someone off the list, press Remove next to their entry. Only an owner or manager can change the list, and every change is recorded in the work log. Send a test Press Send a test email on the inbox card. Your email app opens with a short message to Sanaf, ready to send. Send it from an address you have allowed, and Sanaf answers by email. Things to know - Forwarding works. Forward a message from your own allowed address and Sanaf reads it, including the forwarded text. - Senders are checked. Anyone can type any address into the From line, so Sanaf also checks that the email really came from the domain it claims to. Mail that fails those checks is refused, even from an allowed domain. If an allowed sender's mail never gets an answer, their domain's email settings (SPF and DMARC) may be the reason. - Rejected email gets no reply. Mail from someone who is not allowed, or that fails the checks, is dropped without an answer. - Treat it like any message. Sanaf asks before anything it cannot undo, just as it does in Slack, Teams or the console chat. Related - Chat with Sanaf in the console - How approvals work - Sanaf is not replying
