Connect Sanaf to Microsoft Teams

This article shows how to put Sanaf in Microsoft Teams and connect it to your Sanaf workspace.

How Teams works with Sanaf

In Teams, Sanaf works through one app called Sanaf. You install the app, send it a message, and it gives you a button that connects your Teams to your Sanaf workspace. You never have to look up an ID.

Install the app

  1. In the console, open Integrations on the left rail, then the Channels tab.
  2. Find the card Sanaf in Microsoft Teams.
  3. If you see Add Sanaf to Teams, press it and follow Teams' install screen. Otherwise press Download the Teams app package to get the app as a file.
  4. If you downloaded the package, open Teams and choose Apps, then Manage your apps, then Upload an app, and pick the file. If your organisation does not let you upload apps, ask your Teams admin to add it to the organisation's app catalog.

The app asks for permission to read messages in the teams and chats it is added to. That is what lets Sanaf follow a thread it is already in without being mentioned every time.

Connect your workspace

  1. In Teams, send Sanaf a message.
  2. It replies with a card saying it is not connected to a Sanaf workspace yet. Press Open the Sanaf console to connect. The page opens in your browser.
  3. Sign in to the console if you are asked to.
  4. Press Connect this workspace.

From then on, everything said to Sanaf in that Teams reaches your Sanaf workspace. The card on the Channels tab switches to Live after the first message.

A few things to know:

  • The connect link lasts 30 minutes. If it expires, send Sanaf another message in Teams for a fresh one.
  • You need to be an owner or manager of the Sanaf workspace to connect it.
  • If that Teams is already connected to another Sanaf workspace, the page tells you and nothing changes.

Talk to Sanaf in Teams

  • In a chat with Sanaf, just say what you need in plain words.
  • In a channel, mention @Sanaf first.
  • Type help at any time to see how to work with it and a few things to try.

Approving from Teams

When Sanaf needs a yes before it acts, it shows a card with Approve and Not this time. Only a manager can decide. Your Microsoft account is usually linked for you when you connect Teams. If pressing Approve is not recognised as you, open Integrations, then Channels, and set it under Your Microsoft account.
