This article covers Talk to Sanaf, a voice call with Sanaf from the console's Chat screen.
What a call is like
A call works like talking to a colleague on the phone. You speak, Sanaf answers out loud, and there is no button to hold down. Sanaf listens while it talks, so you can interrupt it and it stops to hear you.
It is the same Sanaf as in the chat, with the same apps, instructions and approvals.
Start a call
- Open Chat at the top of the left rail, and open a chat or start a new one.
- Select the microphone next to the send button. It is labelled Talk to Sanaf (it shows your employee's name).
- The first time, your browser asks to use your microphone. Select Allow.
- Sanaf greets you. Start talking.
A panel above the message box shows what is happening: Listening, Sanaf is working on it or Sanaf is speaking, and what each of you has said.
- Select Mute to stop Sanaf hearing you without ending the call.
- Select End call to hang up.
Headphones give the clearest call, because Sanaf cannot hear its own voice through your speakers.
Asking Sanaf to do something
Sanaf answers small talk and questions about how it works straight away. When you ask for something that needs your business, such as "which invoices are overdue?" or "reply to the email from Dana", Sanaf says a short line such as "Let me check" and does the work, the same way it does when you type. This can take a few seconds or longer.
What you asked appears in the chat as your message, and Sanaf's full reply appears under it, with any files and a list of what it did. On the call, Sanaf says the short version.
Anything that sends, books, pays or deletes still needs your yes. Sanaf tells you on the call, and the Sanaf is waiting on you card appears in the chat. Answer it there.
Limits
- A call lasts up to 10 minutes. Sanaf wraps up and says goodbye before it ends. Start another call to keep going.
- A call cannot start when your workspace is out of credits. If the credits run out during a call, Sanaf says goodbye and the call ends.
- A call cannot start while your employee is paused.
What a call costs
The time on the call is metered from the moment it connects to the moment it ends, including pauses:
- 200 credits a minute once you have bought credits.
- 800 credits a minute on the free plan, because free credits are metered at 4x.
A call is billed by the second, not rounded up to the minute. The work Sanaf does during the call, such as reading your inbox, is metered as usual on top. Calls show as Voice calls on the Usage screen.
If the call does not start
- "Allow the microphone for this site": your browser blocked the microphone. Allow it for employees.sanafai.com in your browser's site settings, then try again.
- "You are out of credits": buy credits on the Billing screen.
- "The call could not start": wait a moment and try again. If it keeps happening, contact support.
