A skill is a written procedure Sanaf follows every time a certain kind of task comes up, such as how you write quotes or how you file an invoice.
How skills work
Each skill has a name, a short line saying when to use it, and the procedure itself. Sanaf reads the "when to use it" line to decide whether a skill applies to the task in front of it, and only then reads the full procedure. So write that line as "Use this when...".
Skills belong to Sanaf, and you manage them on the Skills screen in the left rail. The Teach Sanaf screen also lists them under What it has learned to do.
Add a skill
Open Skills. Owners and admins see four ways to add one:
- Marketplace: browse ready-made skills and install one in a click.
- Create a skill: write one yourself. Fill in Name, When to use it and The skill, then select Save skill.
- Upload skill: add a skill folder or a zip file. The folder must hold a
SKILL.mdfile with a name and a description at the top. A skill can hold up to 80 files, 1 MB per file and 5 MB in total. - Install from a repository: inside the upload dialog, give a GitHub repository, a link to one skill folder, or a skills.sh link, select Find skills, then Install the one you want.
A new skill is ready for Sanaf to use straight away.
Skills Sanaf writes itself
You can ask Sanaf to write down how it did something after it gets it right, and it saves that as a skill. Sanaf also keeps its own notes about the apps it works in. These skills are marked learned by Sanaf. Sanaf can only change its own learned skills, never one a person wrote, and a skill can never change what Sanaf has to ask your approval for.
Edit a skill
- Open Skills and select the skill's name, or Edit.
- Change the name, When to use it or The skill.
- Select Save as v2 (the number is always one higher than the current version).
A skill marked shared belongs to the whole workspace and cannot be edited from this screen.
Versions and restoring
Every change is kept. Select the version label on a skill card (for example v3 ยท history), or the history button on the skill's page, to see every version, when it was made and why. Select Restore this version to go back to an older one. Restoring saves it as a new version, so nothing is lost.
Remove a skill
Select Remove on the skill's card. Only owners and admins can add, edit, restore or remove skills.
