What Sanaf is and how it works

Sanaf is an AI employee you hire into your business, and this article explains what it does and where you manage it. One employee, with a job Each workspace has one AI employee, named Sanaf unless you give it another name when you hire it. When you hire it you pick its first job, such as handling an inbox or following up on leads. The job gives Sanaf a job description, the apps that job needs and sensible approval defaults. You can change the job later. Where you talk to it Sanaf works where your team already talks: - Slack: add it to your workspace, then message it directly or mention it in a channel. - Microsoft Teams: install the Sanaf app, then chat with it or mention it in a channel. - The console chat: the Chat screen in the console, if you want to talk to it in the browser. - Email: every workspace gets an inbox address. You choose who is allowed to write to it. What it can use On its own, Sanaf can only talk. To do real work it needs your apps. You connect an app once for the whole business on the Integrations screen, and then choose which apps Sanaf may use. It asks you first Before it sends, books, buys or deletes anything, Sanaf stops and asks. The question arrives as a card where it is working, in Slack, in Teams or in the console chat. Nothing leaves your business until somebody says yes. What the console is for The console at employees.sanafai.com is where you set Sanaf up and check on it. Most day to day work happens in Slack or Teams. The left rail holds: - Chat, Teach Sanaf, Routines and Work log for talking to it, teaching it, scheduling repeat work and reading what it did. - Integrations, Skills and Marketplace for what it can do. - Files, Pages and Spaces for what it made. - Settings, including Billing and Usage. How it is priced Sanaf runs on credits, so you pay for the work it does, not a seat. A new workspace starts with $120 of credits, with no card needed, and they do not expire. Create your workspace and hire Sanaf

This article walks you through signing up for Sanaf and hiring it into your new workspace. Sign up Go to employees.sanafai.com. The first screen, Hire your first AI employee, offers several ways in: - Sign up with Slack. This is the quickest route if your team works in Slack. It opens your workspace, hires Sanaf and takes you straight to Slack's screen to add it. Sanaf then says hello in Slack. - Sign up with Microsoft, when it is shown. It opens your workspace, hires Sanaf and takes you to the page with the Teams app. - Sign up with Google. - An email and a password. To sign up with an email: 1. Fill in Full name, Work email, Password and Confirm password. Company name (optional) becomes the name of your workspace. 2. Press Create my workspace. 3. We email you a six digit code. Enter it and press Continue. If it does not arrive, press Send another code. Your workspace opens on its own. You are not asked where your team works: the first place you add Sanaf, Slack or Teams, settles that. Hire Sanaf After signing up with Google or an email you land on What should Sanaf do first? 1. Pick a job. Jobs are grouped by the kind of work, and each card says in one line what that job covers. 2. If none fits, pick Write the job yourself under Something else. You write Sanaf's instructions after hiring. 3. Under What should we call it?, keep the name Sanaf or type another one. 4. Press Hire Sanaf (the button shows the name you chose). You land on Sanaf's own page. It shows the job it holds and a Getting Sanaf started card with three steps: put it where your team talks, connect an app, and give it something to do. If you signed up with Slack, Sanaf is hired without a job. Its page says No job picked, and you can pick one with Give it a job. Good to know - A workspace has one Sanaf. Once it is hired, the hire screen takes you to it instead of hiring a second one. - Only an owner or manager of the workspace can hire. - The name is set when you hire, so choose the one your team will use in Slack or Teams. Choose or change Sanaf's job

This article shows how to give Sanaf a job, or change the one it has, after it is hired. What a job gives Sanaf A job is a role from Sanaf's list of jobs, such as handling an inbox or following up on leads. Picking one gives Sanaf three things: - The job's instructions, so it arrives knowing that work. - The apps the job uses. - The job's approval defaults, which decide what it asks you about first. Sanaf's page in the console shows the job it holds under its name. A Sanaf hired without a job, for example through Sign up with Slack, shows No job picked. It still works, from its instructions and whatever you ask it. Change the job 1. Open Sanaf's page in the console. 2. Under its name, press Change the job. If it has no job yet, the link reads Give it a job. 3. Pick the job you want from the grid. 4. Read the note under the grid. It tells you what will happen to Sanaf's instructions (see below). 5. Press Give Sanaf this job. The button shows your employee's name. If you pick the job Sanaf already has, the button reads Already Sanaf's job and cannot be pressed. Only an owner or manager of the workspace sees the link and can make the change. What happens to what is already there Everything Sanaf has already done stays exactly as it is. For its settings, the rule is that the new job fills in defaults and never overwrites what a person changed. - Instructions. If nobody has edited them, Sanaf takes the new job's instructions. If you wrote or edited them yourself, they are kept. To use the new job's instructions anyway, tick Use the new job's instructions instead of mine. The change is saved as a new version, and your old text stays in the Versions list on the Teach Sanaf screen, so you can go back to it. - Approvals. The new job only adds approval rules for kinds of action you have no rule for yet. A rule you already set, for example to always ask before sending email, is never loosened. - Apps. Sanaf takes the new job's app settings, unless someone changed the old ones by hand, in which case yours are kept. You can edit any of these afterwards. Give Sanaf its first task

This article helps you get Sanaf doing its first piece of real work. Follow the checklist When Sanaf is new, its page in the console shows a Getting Sanaf started card with three steps. You can do them in any order, and the card goes away once all three are done. 1. Put it where your team talks. Add Sanaf to Slack or Microsoft Teams, so your team can mention it like anyone else. 2. Connect an app it needs. Until you connect something, Sanaf can only talk. Press Connect an app to open Integrations. 3. Give it something to do. Ask for something real. Only the next step to take shows a button. Ask for something Ask the way you would ask a colleague, in plain words. - In Slack or Teams: send Sanaf a direct message, or mention it in a channel. Once it is in a thread, it stays in it, so you can reply without mentioning it again. When Sanaf is in Slack or Teams, the last step's button opens it there. - In the console: open Chat on the left rail and type in the box. A new chat offers a few openers based on the apps you have connected. Press Enter to send. Good first tasks use an app you have connected, such as "summarise my unread emails from today" or "draft a reply to the last message from a customer". When it asks you first Before Sanaf sends, books, buys or deletes anything, it stops and asks. You see a card with the details, a button to go ahead (Send it in Slack and the console chat, Approve in Teams) and Not this time. The card appears where you asked, in Slack, Teams or the console chat. Sanaf's page in the console also shows what it is waiting on, and you can answer from either place. Check what it did - Sanaf's page shows What Sanaf did for you: things done in the last 7 days, times it checked with you first, and what is waiting on you now. - Work log on the left rail lists everything it has done.
